The Ironing Woman is a single-channel video work that explores death, grief, female labour, and domesticity through a bricolage aesthetic that mirrors the fragmented and unpredictable nature of mourning itself.

Drawing from the rituals and repetitions of housework, the work examines the ways grief is carried through the body and expressed through everyday acts of care. Domestic labour becomes a vehicle for exploring memory, loss, and the emotional labour involved in processing absence. Through accumulation, fragmentation, and unexpected shifts in tone, the work reflects the disordered experience of grief—where moments of sadness, absurdity, humour, beauty, and reflection coexist.

Blending dark humour and absurdity with the visual language of domestic life, The Ironing Woman challenges conventional representations of mourning.
